Loved this theme of deliverance by Scott last Sunday. Really sensed this is where we need to be as a church, we ALL need deliverance from our stuff and enemy strongholds at some point in our lives as Scott said.

We don’t see too much deliverance in Canada, true deliverance. Perhaps one day we will trust our Jesus and allow him to set us truly free personally and corporately from our dignified attempts at being a church in victory?

Those of us who have been involved in ministering in Africa for instance in any way should know how Satan binds people’s lives, their emotions, bodies, and thought's, and how real this spiritual war is that we are engaged in. Perhaps here in Canada we are so involved in our "stuff" we dont even notice how bound we really are, and how desperately we need true freedom?

Here’s a provocative question to you, which some will find offensive. When was the last time you saw a precious person being set free in Canada from a demon in a church setting or elsewhere? If the answer is never does that mean we don’t have this problem anymore? Or does it mean our enemy is most comfortable in our churches - thank you very much? Are we too dignified to deal with the nitty gritty of this war? Do we think the rules of engagement are 'leave them alone, and they leave us alone'?

I do indeed "rejoice that our names are written in the lambs book of life", but I do wonder how many of us need to be set free from strongholds that our enemy has kept us bound in for years and years?

Luke 10: 1-21

"After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves…

The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name."
He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure."

I missed the service today, 14th March, but pray Scott took the theme of deliverance one step further toward freedom.

God bless and empower you Scott

P.S There is some excellent material on this theme at www.derekprince.org that is balanced and not flakey if you want to research further.

Note to the above: I thought Scott was preaching two weeks in a row, and just found out Sandy preached the followiing Sunday after Scott. And so, I wait with great anticipation for where Scott and others take us in the next deliverance sermon installments.
